Pearson International Airport handles more than 50 million passengers annually, making it one of North America's busiest airports and, statistically, one of its most stressful. For the UHNW traveller who is accustomed to private terminal FBO treatment on the departure side, the arrival experience at a commercial terminal should be designed with the same precision. FFGR Canada's Pearson VIP transfer programme does exactly that — from tarmac to destination, without the variables that define ordinary airport transfers.
Terminal 1 vs. Terminal 3 — The Strategic Choice
Terminal 1 is the international gateway: Star Alliance, Air Canada mainline, and most long-haul carriers. Terminal 3 handles transborder US flights and several international carriers. The ground approach is different for each. T1 offers the CATSA NEXUS lane and the Air Canada Signature Suite; T3 has its own international arrivals hall with faster customs processing in off-peak hours.
FFGR Canada positions differently for each terminal based on real-time gate assignment. We do not stage at the wrong terminal and then relocate. Our dispatch receives gate information from the airline systems 20 minutes before touchdown and adjusts positioning accordingly.
GTAA Priority Lane Access
The GTAA Priority Lane at Pearson allows authorised ground vehicles to stage within 200 metres of the arrivals exit — a distinction that eliminates the kerb-sprint that defines standard limousine services. FFGR Canada vehicles are GTAA-enrolled and stage in the Priority Lane, not the general limo holding area.
In practical terms, this means the walk from arrivals doors to vehicle door is under 45 seconds. For a client carrying hand luggage only, the transfer from customs exit to vehicle departure can be achieved in under 90 seconds. This is the benchmark we hold ourselves to.
The Meet-and-Greet Protocol
For clients who prefer a met-flight experience, our driver or meet agent enters the arrivals hall with a discreet name card (or tablet display, at preference) and assists with luggage from customs exit. We do not hold signs at full arm extension in an airport lobby. We position correctly, we make eye contact, and we move efficiently.
For first-time clients or delegation arrivals, we can pre-position a bilingual meet agent separate from the driver — one handles the greeting and paperwork; one manages the vehicle. The distinction reduces the awkward handoff that most single-agent services fumble.
Private Aviation Arrivals at Pearson
The Pearson general aviation terminal (MillionAir, Atlantic Aviation) operates landside from the commercial terminal. Private aircraft arrivals bypass the commercial customs hall and clear through the GAT's own CBSA facility — typically 10 to 15 minutes from wheels-down to airside exit.
FFGR Canada has standing access at the MillionAir and Atlantic ramps. Our vehicle is on the tarmac when the aircraft door opens. For clients with complex itineraries — arriving by private aircraft, transiting overnight at a downtown hotel, and departing commercially the next morning — we manage the complete ground sequence from first wheels-down to final kerb departure.
Downtown Toronto Transfers — The Variables
The Airport Express Route 900 takes 25 minutes to Union Station. A FFGR Canada vehicle, by contrast, delivers directly to your destination — hotel, residence, or office — in 28 to 45 minutes depending on traffic and destination. The variable is the Gardiner Expressway, which can add 15 to 25 minutes during morning rush between 7:30 and 9:00 am.
Our dispatch team monitors the 401, the Gardiner, and the DVP from 5:30 am. For early-morning arrivals, the routing decision is made before the client exits customs. The driver receives the updated route on the in-vehicle system. No surprises.
Booking a Pearson VIP Transfer
Standard Pearson transfers require 4-hour notice minimum and can be booked up to 6 months in advance. For corporate accounts, open bookings can be made against a pre-authorised standing instruction. We send a confirmation with driver name, vehicle plate, and staging location 2 hours before pickup.
For private aviation arrivals requiring tarmac access, 24-hour notice is required to coordinate with the FBO. Contact reservation@ffgrcanada.com or WhatsApp to initiate a booking.
